About the Procedure

During a typical dental implant procedure, the dental implant is first placed into the patient's jawbone, and the gum tissue is then stitched. The implant will gradually fuse with the jawbone over the course of about 3-6 months. Patients can wear a temporary appliance during this time. After the implant has bonded to the jawbone, an abutment is attached to the implant, and finally, the replacement tooth is created over the attachment. The entire process usually takes an average of 6-8 months.
